Day Of Celebration
An Ithaca Wedding & Suggestions for a Visit
Today I am in Ithaca taking part in a joyous marriage celebration for one of my longtime friends. You may have heard me talk about the cowboy boots I bought down the street from my office at Panache Vintage & Finer Consignment Shop that I was so excited about for this big countryside wedding.
Crystal & I have been friends since grade school. I inspired her to go back to massage school after I finished my program and started my business. She now works at Quintessence Massage in Ithaca, which I've been to & highly recommend!
Ithaca is a beautiful place to visit. I recommend coming down for a day or a weekend. Plan to get some hiking in a the two parks I worked at for 6 summers: Robert H Treman State Park and Buttermilk Falls State Park located a couple miles apart from each other. It's a great workout with even better views. Taughannock Falls State Park is just outside of Ithaca and is worth checking out as well. Or for free, you can walk through the beautiful campus of Cornell University and then stop to see Ithaca Falls.
Have you heard of the Moosewood Restaurant? Started in the 70's, it is renowned for its delicious, healthy cuisine. Bon Apitite magazine named it one of its 13 most influential restaurants. Chances are you've seen one of their 12 cookbooks. If you have a chance to get there, it's a must. You'll come home with new ideas to try in your kitchen too!
Ithaca really is such a unique community. It's a simple 2 hour drive from Rochester, so if you've never been, or haven't been in a long time, I'd say it's about time to head down & explore it!
