Cancellations & No Shows
When you schedule an appointment, that time slot is reserved just for you. There is nothing else more important to me for that time, than to help you & give you my best service. If you cancel on the same day or simply choose not to show up, oftentimes, I'm left with a hole in my schedule where I could have been helping someone who wanted to be helped.
I absolutely understand that life happens. Your car won't start, you go into labor, you're sick, or have a family emergency you need to leave town for- these things happen. Generally, I use a 3 strike policy with these types of situations. Meaning, I give you the benefit of the doubt that you want to be at your appointment, but means outside of your control are keeping you from getting to me. When this happens a 3rd time, I will often suggest that my practice is not the best place for you.
Our Cancellation/No Show Policy is as follows: We require 24 hours notice for all cancellations, as your time is reserved just for you. Cancellations with less than 24 hours will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. If you fail to show up for your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full session fee.
Recently, my therapists and I have had an upswing of new clients who've scheduled, but didn't show up or answer their phones when called. Despite the fact they were called prior to confirm, received a confirmation email, as well as a reminder email of the appointment. For this reason, I have now enabled the setting in my online scheduling system that requires a credit card capture to hold appointments scheduled by new clients.
For returning clients, I shut this feature off as a convenience for you, but would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the cancellation policy. We value you and your time, I ask you to please value ours. For the vast majority of you that already do, thank you. We appreciate it!
