That's my mantra & I am passionate about inspiring you to live a healthy, happy life!
In addition to my four year college education, I received my massage certification at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Rochester‘s Village Gate. New York State’s 1000 hour program is the most comprehensive in the country, as not all states regulate massage. While in school, I fell in love with pregnancy massage. So, after taking the boards and receiving my license, I continued my education to become trained through DONA International as a birth Doula. I have also trained with Infant Massage USA, to become an Infant Massage Instructor. I am a member in good standing with the ABMP-Associated Massage & Bodywork Professionals.
As a native of Ithaca, NY I grew up surrounded by a community of individuals who valued alternate therapies such as massage, acupuncture, and energy work. I guess you could say I was born into it! The Ithaca community is culturally diverse, as it’s a hub for higher education because of the great colleges located there. If you’ve been, you know that ‘Ithaca is Gorges,’ due to the amazing scenery of rolling hills, waterfalls, deep glens, ponds, forests and Cayuga Lake. (If you’ve never been, I suggest a day trip to hike the State parks!)
Why does Ithaca matter if I’m now in Rochester, you ask? It’s simple- it helped create the person and therapist I am today. My passion for alternate therapies, my community mindset, my love for multi-cultural diverse learning, and my connectedness to nature were fundamentally built within me, in Ithaca.
I now own a home here in Rochester, shared by my husband Adam and our two dogs- Schotzee and Frank. I love to tend to my vegetable gardens, read, hike, camp, spend time with family & friends, go to the Rochester Public Market and try new things.
I believe massage therapy connects our mind, body, and spirit in a way that allows us to live up to our fullest potential- to live a healthy life full of love and happiness. I am here to support you on that journey!
I've always felt that women going through the transitional time of pregnancy and motherhood, deserve and need supportive, compassionate care from other women. I believe that pregnancy is a beautiful journey- physically, emotionally, and spiritually- if you open yourself and allow it to be. The care I provide to my expecting mommies encompasses all of these aspects and honors you for the individual you are and where you are at. There is no bigger honor than supporting a woman throughout this journey.
My clients become more and more like family, each time they visit my office. I look forward to supporting you and making you a part of the Bodywork by Bobbi family!
